To diagnose glaucoma an eye pressure check is performed using a digital tonometer. An OCT/Optical Coherence Tomography may also be prescribed. Increased eye pressure is the most important risk factor for glaucoma. It is considered as one of the “vital signs” when you visit your eye doctor. You can think of high eye pressure as an preindicator for glaucoma.

A comprehensive eye exam will check the general health of your eyes as well as the quality of your vision. During this exam the eye doctor will determine your prescription for eyeglasses.

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging test. OCT uses light waves to take cross-section pictures of your retina. 

OCT is useful in diagnosing many eye conditions, including:

*Glaucoma

*Diabetic Retinopathy

*Optic Nerve disorders
